Comprehensiveness
Key definitions are provided at the beginning of the text. Index/glossary not included.
Content Accuracy
Please note the state specificity in this text. Could easily be adapted to include different states. The general IDEA information is also embedded.
Relevance/Longevity
Could easily be adapted based on changes in state law/updated resources. The instructional strategies and overall supports are aligned with sustainable long term practices.
Clarity
Material is written in a way that is accessible for undergraduate students.
Consistency
The text includes a consistent format with each disability category receiving a chapter that follows a distinct pattern.
Modularity
Since each disability is a chapter, it could easily be utilized in parts.
Organization/Structure/Flow
Layout is clean, organized, and the embedded links are clickable and provide access to additional resources.
Interface
Images, videos, and graphics were clear.
Grammatical Errors
I did not find any grammatical errors.
Cultural Relevance
No offensive content, would suggest pairing with a culturally responsive framework and intersectionality framework.
CommentsI think this is an accessible usable text that could be supplemented with additional readings for a lower division introduction to SPED course. The individual chapters and broad overview of IDEA and eligibility categories are presented in a clear, consistent, and organized fashion.
