    I used this text for an Introduction to Astronomy I and II courses for non-science majors. The material covers variety of topics for two semester course. The first half of the material provide complete detailed introduction of Astronomy background, Astronomical instruments, physics and optics basics. The second half focus on solar system objects. Material is well organized with figures, examples and numerical problems relevant to the topics.

    This text material is up-to-date, as far as I know. I am surprised The material is included with latest happenings such as new observatories JWST, new missions launched, even the new branches in Astronomy such as Gravitational waves detectors.

    This book provided the content with outmost clarity. This materials is a great resource for introduction to Astronomy to non-science major students.

    Each topic is developed with grate details where reader cannot lost. Each topic explained with figures, examples and summary at the end of the topic.

    This book is very well organized. the book started with basics concepts, then background and then explained advance topics.

    This book available in different formats, as pdf, online HTML text. Each format is very convenient to use. High quality Images are provided but sometimes (youtube) links are not working properly.

    No grammatical errors are found.

    Cultural Relevance rating: 5

    The material contains several historical content. The text book explained the scientific contribution provided by ancient culture, scientist and the role of woman scientist as well.

    I have been using this book for my introduction to Astronomy I and II courses. This book is easy to access, easy to read and understand. Student's feed back about this material is great. I recommend this material to other educators.
